Mrs. Peruzzi and her sister, Mrs. Nardi, talk about their parents, Anton and Tomaide Petroni. Their father was a sulfur miner from Rome; after emigrating to the United States he worked as a miner as well as at a Ford plant. Her mother was a seamstress. The family took in boarders to help with their income and the house had chickens and a garden. Mrs. Peruzzi also discusses the many Swedish immigrants in the area. Recorded at Iron Mountain, Michigan. |
