While walking around Quincy Hill in Hancock, MI, Michael Gemignani gives an account of the town’s layout during its beginning as a mining community. He discusses the Italian families that lived in the area and the everyday life of the miners and famers. The relationships between Italians and other European groups is discussed. Additionally, he gives some account of the folklore and stories of the individuals in the town. Recorded at the Franklin Mine, MI and Mike Gemignani’s home by Dr. Russell M. Magnaghi. |
