In this interview, Ida Fillipini speaks Italian while her daughter translate to English. Ida discusses her family and her life in Italy, where she grew up. During her time in Italy, she went to school in a convent and learned how to embroider, and when she came to the states her occupation was listed as embroiderist. In 1914, she immigrated to America and she describes her passage over and why her family came to settle in Bessemer, MI. |
