Rose Longhini gives an account of her parent’s lives after they moved to Ironwood, MI. She describes the hardships her family faced as they adjusted to their new lives in America. Additionally, she talks about the different ethnic groups that were present in the town of Hurley, WI, where she grew up. Traditional Italian celebrations and are discussed and the different foods that were prepared for the events. She describes how the celebrations changed after her family moved to the states. Recorded at Rose Longhini’s home in Ironwood, MI by Greta Swenson. |
