Note(s): |
Phyllis began volunteering at The Women’s Center in the mid-1980s while she was working with Head Start. Much of her volunteer work with The Women’s Center focused on supporting domestic violence victims. During her time with the shelter, she became the director of Harbor House in the 1990s. She recalls how the original founders and surrounding community helped to lift the organization out of financial hardship in recent years. Recorded at The Women’s Center in Marquette, Michigan. |
