Warning: This interview describes scenes of domestic violence. Gary graduated from law school at the University of Michigan in 1971, and then moved to Marquette, MI in the summer of 1972. In 1974, he became the prosecuting attorney of Marquette County, MI. Gary describes how he worked with members of The Women’s Center to implement procedures that helped domestic violence victims. Additionally, he discusses the women’s movement on a national level and the changes the movement sparked. Recorded at Jane Ryan’s home in Marquette, Michigan. |
