Daniel Murray Seaman, Elizabeth Grandy Seaman, and their family became the first permanent European settlers on Drummond Island in 1853. The Seamans were also early adherents of the Mormon Church. John T. Nevill wrote a series of articles about the Seaman family of Drummond Island in The (Sault Sainte Marie) Evening News in 1953 in honor of the Seaman family's centennial on the island. |
